PIC: World’s Strongest Man champion shows off new look after 5-stone weight loss

Eddie Hall has revealed incredible before and after pictures since shedding five-stone in a dramatic weight loss transformation.

The Beast, crowned the winner of the World’s Strongest Man in 2017, went on a strict diet after claiming the title, saying he “wanted to live a healthier life”.

Eddie tipped the scales at 30.9stone (433lbs) after chowing down 12,500 calories a day to maintain his beefy physique – including two full English breakfasts, each with five sausages.

But he admitted weighing almost 31stone felt like “torture”.

The muscleman also started doing cardio in addition to weight training to slim down to 26stone (360lbs).

Former lorry maintenance worker Eddie, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, showed off his new six pack on his Instagram page @eddiehallwsm.

He posted to his 891,000 followers: “196kg vs 164kg, 2017 vs 2018. Lots of people asking for comparison photos from my biggest to now, well here it is.”

Speaking about adding cardio to his exercise routine, including swimming, cycling and boxing, Eddie added: “Cardio training for big guys is unique, you have to adapt it so that you don’t lose muscle and you don’t tire out.

“Using methods to not only improve your cardiovascular system but also help your body to recover after weight sessions by shifting lactic acid, helping the tendons, ligaments and muscles to repair.”

And fans praised his efforts, with one commenting: “What a transformation Eddie, always knew you’d smash the WSM, now it’s #family #life.”

Another added: “Smashed it lad” and praised him for being a “legend” and a “true role model”.

It comes as Eddie announced earlier this year that he would no longer compete in WSM competitions.

He posted on Insta: “For the people that keep asking why I don’t compete at the world’s strongest man anymore… simple: I choose to live a healthier life now and enjoy the fruits of my labour.

“I felt as though the sun was beginning to set on my life and I needed to start swimming back from dark waters to start to see the sunlight again.

Eddie – who holds the world record deadlift at 500kg – also credits protein shakes for helping him shed excess weight.

He beat 29 rival strongmen to claim victory at WSM, held in Botswana, becoming the first Brit to hold the title for 25 years.
