Best Diet Pills

By | September 29, 2016

The diet pill arena is a confusing place. So many pills, so many claims. What is true, and what are the best diet pills for your weight loss needs? I asked myself these questions, and I did some research. These are the results of my weight loss pill and supplement research.

Each of the companies that manufacture weight loss products makes claims about their effectiveness. Let’s see where the major diet pills fall.

The most recent and best-selling weight loss diet pill right now is based on the ingredient Hoodia. There are literally dozens of companies that manufacture a weight loss pill with this main ingredient. So what is it?

Hoodia comes from a succulent plant from southwestern Africa called Hoodia Gordonii. These weight loss pills are herbal supplements. They are not regulated by the FDA, and they have no stimulants. They claim to suppress the appetite, leading to a dramatic decrease in calorie consumption, which leads to weight loss.

The other major manufacturers of current weight loss diet pill products fall under the category of stimulants. These have varying degrees of side effects, attributed to any kind of stimulant. Caffeine and ephedra are the two most common ingredients. These drugs claim to interfere with brain function in various ways.

Leptoprin and Leptopril are the same product. Leptoprin is the name brand, while Leptopril is the less expensive generic form. Both these pills are stimulants that claim to help overcome the genetic tendency for obesity. There is a significant content of caffeine, and while the company that manufactures these drugs does not publish the list of ingredients, they acknowledge they are strong stimulants. The drawbacks to these drugs include fears that because they do not burn fat, healthy muscle can be damaged in the weight loss process. The company does not recommend any exercise or diet program accompany these products.

Phentermine is another stimulant used for weight loss. This drug is approved for weight loss by the FDA. It uses a stimulant similar to amphetamines to cause the hypothalamus to decrease appetite. It is usually prescribed for patients whose health is in danger because of their obesity, and it is usually prescribed for short term use-12 weeks or less. The drawbacks to Phentermine are a possible disruption in sleep patterns, conflict with other medications, potential addiction and difficulty withdrawing, and potentially serious side effects. Be sure to talk with a doctor about all medical conditions before taking this drug.

CarboExpel is another weight control product on the market today. It claims to be a carb-blocker. It controls the desire to eat sugar. This product does allow for weight loss, but usually the weight that is lost is not from fat deposits, but from muscle, which can cause damage to the healthy muscle. It does not have an appetite suppressant, and it can cause dietary deficiencies. A benefit to this product is that it is stimulant free, and therefore free of the trembles and shakes that sometimes accompany a stimulant-based product.

Ephedra has had its share of hard knocks and criticisms as a diet drug. It has been linked to heart problems when taken in combination with other drugs. Ephedra has been used in Chinese medicine for over 5,000 years. It increases blood pressure and heart rate, and can be effective for short term use, yet it can have adverse effects.

Cortislim is another brand of weight loss pill that targets the stress hormone called Cortisol. Cortisol is shown to increase fat deposits in key areas of the body. Cortislim claims to control this hormone and calm the body’s response to stress, allowing the fat deposits to be burned off.

Relacore is weight loss product that targets belly fat. The manufacturer claims that, in conjunction with diet and exercise, Relacore can help burn off the fat deposits around the midsection. This product is all natural and has no stimulants. While short term results can be documented, there is no evidence of lasting weight loss results.

Another popular fat burning product is Xenadrine. Xenadrine, unlike Relacore and Cortislim, is a stimulant, and therefore has some of the side effects as other stimulant products. It also claims to target fat deposits and burn them off.

Weight loss product manufacturers sell millions of dollars of diet pills and supplements to American consumers. They make claims that seem too good to be true. It is important for Americans to be wise and do their research on these products before sinking their money into a no-win situation.

In my research, the only products that seem to have lasting results (we’ll know more as time goes on) is the Hoodia based diet products. Their natural product and lack of side effects and drug interaction warnings are attractive. But remember that the best way to be successful at the weight loss game is to engage in a program of proper nutrition and exercise. Only when this combination doesn’t produce optimum results should you consider adding a weight loss supplement. Talk to your doctor before taking any of these options.

The bottom line is that the best diet pills are the ones that are safe, help you lose weight, and have a reasonable cost. Right now, Hoodia based diet pills seem to be the best choice.
