  • In a new Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper pops a jawbreaker-like cyst festering in a patient’s cheek.
  • One commenter described the cyst’s contents as looking like “skin-on mashed potatoes.”
  • The cyst featured in this video is an epidermoid cyst, which contains a collection of wet dead skin cells and keratin.

In a new Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper—aka dermatologist and TLC host Dr. Sandra Lee, MD—pops a chunky cyst festering in a patient’s cheek. Dr. Lee calls this protruding mass a “jawbreaker,” and it’s easy to see why.

In the clip, Dr. Lee makes an incision along the length of the growth to access its goopy insides. With a firm squeeze of the patient’s cheek, she’s able to force out the growth’s clumpy white contents—and a lot of it.

In response to the clip, one fan commented, “I didn’t see a jawbreaker. I saw skin-on mashed potatoes.” And that’s truthfully what this disgusting display looks like.

Dr. Lee then snips the contents free, ridding the patient of his pesky “jawbreaker” for good. This is one hard candy you wouldn’t want stuck in your cheek, that’s for sure.

According to Dr. Lee, the cyst featured in this video is an epidermoid cyst, which contains a collection of wet dead skin cells and keratin. Epidermoid cysts often occur on the face, neck, and body.
