This is a double layer mug. As there is a space between each layer, it does not transmit heat to the topmost layer. So even if you pour hot water, you can easily hold the cup. “Running Horse,” which is characterized by the painting of a horse. The distinctive “blue cracks” form patterns throughout the entire vessel, along with the painting of a horse, the “Running Horse,” said to be in the brushstroke style of the Kano school that is the very traditional Japanese painting style.. “Matsunaga Ceramics Shop was established as a wholesale store in 1910, in Ide, Namie-cho, Fukushima Prefecture. Since WW2, the store has gained the affection of people inside and outside the prefecture and also overseas, manufacturing and retailing for over a century. After the earthquake, the company relocated its kiln to Nishigomura.

  • Blue Cracks:Due to the difference in shrinking percentages of ingredients and glaze, some cracks appear on the surface of the entire vessel with beautiful sound. We use this process in order to make the blue crack patterns on the surface on purpose.
