While The Masked Singer may surprise you with the deranged depths it will go to in order to transform your favorite fruits and vegetables and animals into nightmare-inducing costumes, you can actually count on the show to deliver something you (1) did not ask for and (2) do not want but (3) will watch anyway.
Enter: the inaugural Masked Singer Maskys! Yep, tonight’s episode of Masked Singer is a special “sing-along awards show” (what) format “full of surprises” (no, thank you). Be afraid. Be very afraid.
Here’s what FOX promises/threatens for tonight’s episode:
- An exclusive look behind the scenes (help)
- New revealing clues (featuring Cluedle-Doo, SOS)
- Awards like Most Entertaining Train Wreck (the Oscars are shaking)
And in case you’re desperate to know what’s in store for the rest of season 5, read on:

If there’s one thing we can rely on in this cruel, uncertain world, it’s that The Masked Singer airs every Wednesday night at the same time. Tonight’s episode airs at 8/7c on FOX, and as I mentioned already, it’ll be a special “awards” “show“ called The Maskys, and at this point, it’s unclear whether any of the remaining contestants will perform or not.
So, How Many Episodes Are Left?
The Masked Singer is pretty secretive about how many episodes will air in any given season, but it looks like season 5 could be wrapping up pretty soon. I mean, there are only six contestants left! The end must be near, right? I’M NOT READY! According to the experts at The Futon Critic, the season finale isn’t until May 26—although the episode schedule between then and now is pretty murky. To review, here’s what season 5 looks like (tentatively!!):
Episode 1: “Return of the Masks,” aired on March 10
Episode 2: “Shamrock and Roll,” aired on March 17
Episode 3: “Group A Wildcard Round – Enter the Wildcards!” aired on March 24
Episode 4: “Group B Wildcard Round – Rule of Claw!” aired on March 31
Episode 5: “Group B Finals – The Ulti ‘Mutt’ Wildcard!” aired on April 7
Episode 6: “Group A Finals – In the Nick of Time!” aired on April 14
Episode 7: “Super 8 – The Plot Chickens!” aired on April 21
Episode 8: “The Sing-A-Long: The Masky Awards,” airs on April 28
Episode 9: “The Spicy 6 – The Competition Heats Up!” airs on May 5
Episode 10: “The Quarter Finals – Five Fan Favorites” airs on May 12
Episode 11: TBD airs on May 19
Episode 12: Season finale airs on May 26
Reminder: Here’s Who’s Left
For reasons unknown, the remaining contestants are being referred to as “the Spicy 6.” They include: Chameleon, Russian Dolls, Piglet, Robopine, Black Swan, and, yes, Yeti. Will they perform tonight? Perhaps! Only time/Nick Cannon will tell:

Is There Gonna Be a Group C?
TBD on that, but last season, we did eventually meet Group C in episode 5, which was called “The Group C Premiere – Masked but Not Least.” So prepare to *potentially* meet season 5’s Group C later this season!
HOWEVER! It’s also possible that the “wild card” contestants are entirely replacing the Group C concept. And it seems like we’ve met all of them at this point. So yeah. Maybe don’t hold your breath!
Who’s Been Unmasked So Far This Season?
Lots of people! Grandpa Monster, the Raccoon, the Snail, the Phoenix, the Orca, the Bulldog (hi, Nick Cannon), the Crab, and the Seashell.
In case you reaaally want to stroll down memory lane, here’s a list of all the celebrities who have participated in this cursed show since its inception.
Unfortunately, we still don’t know! Obviously, the theory that Nick Cannon was this monstrosity/rooster was wrong (my apologies), so my money’s on Wayne Brady for now. Maybe we’ll find out tonight!
