What is CBD?

By | October 8, 2019

CBD the abbreviation for cannibidiol is an ingredient of marijuana. Its virtue is that unlike THC, another ingredient of marijuana, it will not make you euphoric but might help with your medical problems. If you are interested in trying CBD you will have a problem. The problem is that CBD is largely an unregulated product. In other words if you were to buy some there is no way that you can know that you are actually getting what the bottle says.

CBD appears to work for pain, but it seems as though it works best when combined with THC delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol. THC is the ingredient in marijuana that makes you high.

CBD has been widely researched for seizure disorders and in 2018 the FDA approved Epidiolex derived from CBD for rare severe forms of epilepsy. CBD is not an approved treatment for serious medical conditions like diabetes and cancer.

We suggest that you consult with a medical professional if you are considering trying CBD.
