Fidel Expands their Ability to Drive Long-term Customer Loyalty by Linking More Payment Cards to Loyalty Programmes

[16 January, 2019], LONDON: Today, Fidel API becomes the first global card-linking technology enabler to partner with the three major card payment processors: Visa, Mastercard and Amex. Fidel, which powers the loyalty programmes of Avios, TopCashback and Perkbox is now supporting Amex cards.

Founded in 2013 by Subrata Dev and Andre Elias, developers can use Fidel to create web and mobile applications for linking payment cards with digital platforms globally. Subrata Devd, one of the early members of Badoo, founded Fidel after experiencing first-hand the difficulty of linking payment cards to loyalty programmes. Since launching their card-linking API technology, Fidel has driven millions in sales across 11,000 retailer locations. In the past 12 months, the U.K. based company has expanded to the U.S., Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway; with plans to expand to Canada, Japan, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand in early 2019.

Using Fidel’s technology which powers card-linking applications in the background, customers only need to link their debit or credit card to a brand loyalty programme once, and from then on every time they use their card they earn points and rewards. In short, card-linking empowers consumers while driving sales and retention for businesses.

Our mission is to accelerate the adoption of card-linking globally, by making payment data more accessible. We want to make it as easy as possible for developers to build innovative consumer products using real-time financial data,” said Dev Subrata, CEO and co-founder at Fidel API. “We believe payment data is the glue that will ultimately bind together the worlds of online and offline commerce. Card-linking technology opens up all kinds of opportunities in a variety of different industries. By adding Amex as a payment option, we’re expanding our coverage to make card-linking possible for the majority of cardholders. This is really just the tip of the iceberg. Not only will it change the way people shop, but the way in which people interact with brands all together.
